This current release of our flagship wine is a blend of 46 % Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon,15% Cabernet Franc, 2.5 % Syrah and 1.5% Gamay Noir.

This is our first single varietal Merlot and it is not a “candied fruit ” new world style Merlot but rather it is rich, medium-full dry wine that has hints of cedar, red berry fruit, and coffee on the nose. The wine is well-balanced and floods the palate with ripe Bing cherries, spice and mocha coffee flavours. The mouth feel is dry with firm tannins, and it has a lingering aftertaste of the above mentioned flavours.

With proper cellaring, this wine has the balance and structure to cellar for the next 5-7 years but in our opinion this wine will be drinking at it’s best now with decanting and being served with a big juicy grilled steak.

Inky Purple in colour - this Northern Rhone inspired blend saw co-fermentation with a small amount of Viognier. Very perfumed and lifted aromatics of candied red fruits, black pepper, leather and meat. Velvety tannins and a medium bodied palate deliver plenty of ripe fruit. Exotic!

This wine is a dark crimson red colour with aromas of red currents, rhubarb, and oriental tea. The wine is medium in weight and has a nice bright mouth feel. Fruit flavours of red currents and Italian plums are balanced with a portion of earthy beet roots and a dash of Worcestershire sauce spice. There is a solid spine of fine grained tannins with a balanced finish that lingers delightfully.

This wine is drinking very well now, however, we feel that it will be shining at its brightest with a year of aging in the bottle. This is a definitely a food wine and we would love to serve it with a rich duck cassoulet or char grilled lamb chops.
