PENTÂGE WINERY

Pentâge Winery is a privately owned boutique estate winery located on the North East side of Skaha Lake in Penticton BC. We have been developing our winery since 1996. Our 35 acres of property are planted with 17 acres of vinifera grapes. Our first vineyard, “Vista Ridge”, was planted in 1997 with Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Gamay. Our 2nd property, “The Dirty Dozen”, was planted in 2006 and 2007 with additional clones of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as mixed clones of, Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier, Petite Syrah, Petit Verdot, Zinfandel, Malbec, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Tempranillo.

All plantings are on certified rootstock and trellised to either Lyre divided canopies or Geneva double curtain to maximize quality. We expect the first grapes from The Dirty Dozen Vineyard this year in limited quantities and look forward to working with our new varietals. Keep an eye out
for these new and exciting wines in the coming years as we expect these small lot releases will
sell out quickly.

We limit our annual production to 5000 cases a year - this enables us the ability to create wonderful small lot releases and maintain our hands-on approach for quality control. We also have the option of purchasing a few select varietals from local growers, enabling us to expand our portfolio, when excellent fruit is available.

Our goal is to produce small quantities of world class wines primarily from our estate grown grapes -capturing their true varietal expression and showcasing the terroir of our excellent growing sites. We offer sophisticated wines for every pallet and currently produce 9 whites and 7 reds.

Currently our winery is 2000 square feet.  We are very excited to announce that under construction at the moment is a 4000 square foot natural rock wine cellar completion date for the wine cellar is Fall 2009.
