We have been asked numerous times “why the name Pentâge?”  When we started out – we had a difficult time deciding on a name, we wanted something that would be timeless, different and classic. In a discussion one day we joked that we could create a blend of 5 wines  - Penta, Greek for the number 5.
 
Pentâge is the name of our premium reserve red wine, which is a blend of the 5 reds we grow on our property (Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Gamay). 
 
Each variety is picked, fermented and barrel aged separately, enabling us to understand and learn from each individual wine.  Only with time do the elegance, nuances and uniqueness of each wine show through, enabling us to create this desired hand-crafted blend.  The challenging, but enjoyable part, is finding the perfect blend using the barrel aged “penta” components.
